South Side Bethlehem parks getting $100,000 in upgrades all in one day

Four South Side Bethlehem parks are going to get a $100,000 upgrade.
Wells Fargo has donated $50,000 to the effort and community improvement group Southside Vision 2014 is putting up another $50,000 for the projects.
A park will be created on a vacant lot on the 700 block of East Fourth Street and Parham Park next to Touchstone Theatre will be overhauled. The Bethlehem Skateplaza will get a mural and new trees, and a playground will be built along the South Bethlehem Greenway at Buchanan Street.
Wells Fargo also is donating upward of 100 volunteers to complete the projects on May 18, said Ellen Larmer, a SouthSide Vision member and director of the Community Action Development Corporation of Bethlehem. Community volunteers also will participate in the event. … Read more.
