Project Description

Project Details

Touchstone Theatre (est. 1981) and our team of professional theatre artists recruit, administer, and facilitate two theatre arts summer programs at Touchstone’s home theatre in historic Southside Bethlehem: Camp Touchstone (ages 9-13) and Teen Ensemble (ages 13-17).

These two-week summer theatre programs introduce a group of young artists to skills of theatre performance, playwriting, the process of collaborative theatre making, and costume/prop/set creation through hands-on arts and crafts projects. The Camp Touchstone/Teen Ensemble experience builds student confidence, leadership and communication skills, positive peer relationships, and promotes Touchstone as a creative “home” in Southside Bethlehem. Both programs culminate in public performances by the campers of their own original plays, presented for friends and family onstage in Touchstone’s intimate black box theatre.
